help with yamaha terra pro
#1
ok I know this isn't a new machine
I have a 89 Yamaha terro pro with the attached pto driven bush-hog I bought it new and have gotten great use out of it in the past, but it has been sitting for about a year in the garage now and will not start I have looked at the basics now I need some advice or a link to a download for a pdf manual
If I turn key on and the light comes on but it just clicks, normally I would think weak battery so I replaced the battery same thing happens, I checked the fuse, the cycloid seems to power the opposite terminal when start switch is pushed ........... NOW WHAT??
any help would be appreciated

Sounds like the starter brushes are bad. With the start button pressed gently peck on the starter housing with a something like a screwdriver handle or hammer handle. If the starter begins to spin, the brushes are either worn out or stuck.

You could use an curcuit light tester... probe the starter wire and push starter button if it lights up then you are getting all the volts to there and than starter would be the issue Like said prolly brushes are bad or one stuck and can't touch armature......
