Default yfz 450 help?

I have a YFZ 450R that runs great when turned on but when the engine is stalled the quad refuses to turn on with out the help of a battery pack starter that i carry when we go riding.
Is the problem the battery or is it something else?
I would greatly appreciate any feedback

well, if it starts fine with the help of an external battery source, I would bet its the battery.

Definetly would look at the battery, and connections, also if you got a manual or have access to one ck- the charge cicuit flow chart.

Before installing a new battery use a multimeter and goes from postive and and negative on the battery checking dc voltage with machine running charging system should be at 13.5vdc to 15.0vdc. any lower and you could have a charging system problem.
