I read DirtWheels magazine, and they did an entire test on it. It is basically (besides power) identical to the raptor 250. Mostly same suspension, frame, and drive system. it has a manual 5 speed. The seat height and bar height is slightly lower than the 250. The tire choice is also slightly smaller than the 250. The article stated Dustin Nelson (pro mx quad rider) had a blast throwing it around. It also said that it would make a great first quad for a beginner.

oh kool thanks, um.. i saw in a video that it started it off faster than a 250 because its 31 pounds lighter than the 250. Thanks again, i think this quad would be too small for me because they said its comfortable for 4foots to 5 foot 4 inches and im 5 foot and 8 inches and still growing.

I have tested them both (I am a magazine editor, so I get to ride all the fun stuff!), and really, the only difference is the motor. The 125 was developed more for beginner riders, and the power is less than the 250 in order to be easier to ride. Otherwise, yes....what was quoted from that DirtWheels article is pretty dead-on.....the bars/footpegs are positioned a little differently to accomodate a smaller rider, and the tires are a bit smaller. Otherwise, it shares the exact same chassis/suspension as the 250. The 125 is a fun little quad, too - a bunch of us spent a whole day romping them on a track in CA when we they were introduced! Fun, tough little things!

yea i know its a great starter shift bike but its just my height and thats the problem i have with the 80 and i have already mastered it. I heard it could do 50+ tops and its quick but like i said its my height. I'm sticking with the 250 because they said the 125 is the same like the 250 except for power and 31 pounds lighter I have already dealt with a starter bikes so i just want to go to the 250. Well thanks again.

I'm considering to give my cousin my raptor 80 with his little riding experience but i was thinking he would want more power if he got a yamaha raptor 125. He is nine years old and is four feet four inches, should he get it?
