Question about manual clutch conversion
#1
I'm wondering if it's possible the leave the centrifugal clutch in place when doing a manual clutch conversion on a Wolverine. I know there are a few people here that have converted their Wolverines, but I don't want to do it unless I can still have the centrifugal functional.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're right, then I'll definatly pick the auto clutch, as a fully manual clutch would be a night-mare where I ride, unless I had an extra arm or two for doing things like working the winch and pushing and pulling.
I'm not at all convinced that you're right though. There are two clutchs on an auto-clutch machine, a primary and secondary clutch. The primary is the centrifugal clutch, and remains engaged at engine speeds above idle. The secondary clutch works like any clutch on on a manual clutch machine, except that it is the shift lever which causes disengagement, and not a hand lever.
I know that a conversion is available, and I've yet to understand why the primary clutch must be removed.
Unfortunatly the poor excuse for a shop manual that Yamaha sells, with its cheapo photocopied pages is not very clear, so I don't want to assume that it can be done.
But I'm certainly not going to be discouraged by someone who replies with nothing to say.
