Default CV axle removal

OK this is my first post, be gentle.
I have a 2008 Kodiak 450 with around 2500kms on it.
late last Fall i noticed a slight leak in the left rear axle at the diff.
I used the bike for a club ride last month and noticed that the diff was very hot and leak was getting a little worse.
After the ride i checked the oil level and it was good.
I had one brake cable that tended to freeze so i chocked it up to that,
so i backed off the brake adjustment until i could check it out.
Today i serviced the cable, removed the moisture and pumped oil through it, then adjusted the brakes.
I also changed the diff oil, cleaned up leaking residue, then went on a 20 minute ride, and then checked for leak and exsesive heat.
No leaks or heat, i am hoping the cable sticking was the problem with brakes dragging causing the over heating of the oil thus causing the minor leak.
Has anyone removed a CV axle on a late model Yamaha's,
i assume they are the same procedure?
I tried to just pull it out of diff after disconnecting it at the hub
but no go.
I have a new seal just incase i have to change old one.
After looking at the rear diff setup , i cant see how the diff would have enough room to get out of the small confined space at the back frame.
Hopfully there is an easy way for this?
