I have rode one other Kodiak besides mine. I would say the average Kodiak will run 53-55mph. I have rode one Wolverine. The Kodiak is quicker than the wolverine but if the wolverine has enough room and can wind it out in 5th gear it will pass the Kodiaks.

As far as wheelies go, I never tried it on the wolverine and I never seen the owner do it or talk about it. The Kodiak will not get a wheelie from level ground. Sure I can get the front wheels off the ground about a foot but I dont consider that a wheelie. With a little hump and flooring the throttle you can get a wheelie good enough to ride. Depending on the size if the hump you may need to jerk up on the handle bars.

If a Kodiak is really quicker off the line than a Wolverine that's pretty impressive. Of the quads I've tried drag racing (Rancher, 450ES, 400Forman, 500Xplorer and a Rubicon), only the Rubicon was quicker off the line, and it has about the same top speed.
I didn't get a chance to race against my friends Grizz, though judging by how he beat me on the top end I would guess that it's quite a bit faster.
So if the Kodiak will out accelerate the Wolverine it would be a pretty good performer.

Yeah against this Wolverine the Kodiaks are quicker off the line. I know for a fact that some ATVs "the same model" are faster than others. The Kodiaks are good performers. I would like to race some grizzlies or SP500 to compare speeds. I know they are faster but they should be with 100-200 more cc.

I've rode a Kodiak and it's gutless for doing wheelies. I doubt if the Wolverine will do a wheelie too. If you want a wheelie quad buy a BANSHEE or RAPTOR etc.

The wolverine will ride one hell of a wheelie..just put it in second depress on the shifter to activate the clutch..rev it up and let the shifter go..but hang on! A Kodiak may beat a stock wolverine on take off..this is torque problem for the wolverine..but top end the wolverine will pull away. Put a Dynokit and pipe on the wolverine and say goodbye to the Kodiak!

Yeah, I have mine jetted and piped. I have 2 good friends that just bought brand new Kodiaks. I'll find out who's got bragging rights. I know one thing, I tried the Kodiak with 26" bearclaws with all stock parts and its powerful but has a smooth output of power. My Wolverine feels more snappy because of the pipe and its much lighter. I like the new Kodiaks but I don't know how it will do against the Wolverine. It may have an advantage because of the auto tranny. NO shifting gears means no mistakes in shifting for maximum acceleration. Right now theres lots of snow so its not that great for racing. The other guy has the stock tires so we'll compare the 2 Kodiaks with one 26" and the other stock. Then we'll all race against each other and see what the results say..
