PLEASE HELP!! KFX400 or 660R
Hey new to the forum and would like some advice.
I currently have an 05 kfx 400 that I paid 1600 for. Engines strong. Plastics are rough. It is bone stock. I bought it last week and needs new wheel bearings and swing arm/carrier bearings. The guy was running water for coolant. Water is getting into the oil. I was told its either water pump or maybe just the seals. Im pretty sure its not a head gasket because the sucker still runs pretty fast and smooth. With it being bone stock to get it to where i want it (bumpers, skids, exhaust, knn, jet, nerf bars, chain guides/guard) i will spend about another 1500. Having 3000 into it but a decent looking quad.
I also placed a bid on a raptor on ebay and actually one it. $2125
2004 Yamaha Raptor 660r. Runs great and is super fast! Taken care of and never been raced. Lots of aftermarkets!
Moose racing nerf bars
Tag front bumper
Tag handlebars
Tag rear grab bar
Aluminum billlet dash
Aluminum skid plate
+4 A-Arms
+4 rear wheel spacers
Full FMF exhaust
Dyno jet kit
Carb spacer
Steel braided brake lines
YFZ 450 front tires
ITP holeshot mxr6 rear tires
New battery (last week)
New rear shock (last summer)
New clutch (last spring)
New brake pads (last summer)
New chain, sprockets, rear wheel bearings, front A-Arm bushings, and rear swingarm bearings (last summer)
Basically the advice I need from you guys is should I sell the kfx and purchase the raptor, or just take the bad feedback and bail out on the guy on ebay. I basically need a quad for trail riding and just riding through fields and ****. I heard kfx was better for that but who knows. Then I hear the raptor is too heavy. My research says its only 20 lbs heavier.
Please help. Thanks in advance.

I do think I am going to sell the kfx and go get the raptor. I might just get both and figure out which one i like better. The thing is the raptor has all the after market parts i want to put into the kfx bout 1500 worth.
Anyway, any thought on the strarters going out on the 01-04 660's?
