Default YFZ450X ir YFZ450R????

I am debating whether to get the X or the R of the YFZ450. Let me give you all some info on the type of riding I mostly do. I am strictly trail. I don't race or do motocross whatever you want to call it. I love tearing up trails running over fallen trees. You know how it is lol. But I do love to rip turns and slide the back end out and drift around turns. Which is better for me the X or R?

It depends, how are the width of the trails you will be riding? The YFZ450X is not as wide so it makes it trail suitable. If you got enough room to be riding a 50" wide bike then I'd go with the YFZ450R as it has more stability, Though the YFZ450X is just as stable but easier to turn around (Turning radius) and going around tight places. But if you got the room get the R. Yamaha says they tuned the fuel mapping on the X for trail riding...Honeslty the difference is unnoticeable and more in the geometry of the X that makes it feel different.

I agree, if you are on 52"+ trails, the R is fine. Narrower and you will want the X. Either way, you can buy offset wheels to modify if you need to. It is generally better to make a wide quad narrower than a narrow wider with wheels however.

if you ride in tight trails get the X but if the trails arnt so tight and want more stability get the R also the X is tuned differnt then the R.
