Can someone please tell me whats wrong with my Raptor. My friend stood it up when he was doing a wheelie. It knocked him off, went about ten feet and died. When I got it on all fours again it started alright, but when you give it any gas it loses all power and if you do not let off the gas it stalles. This has been going on for days now. Can someone please help me out. Thanks

Sounds like the parking brake sensor may have gotten knocked loose. There's a wire that runs into the clutch/parking brake perch that senses when the brake is set, it won't let the engine rev at all if it's tripped. You might try wiggling it to see if that solves the problem.

This may sound stupid but have you checked your silencer? It sticks out enough to catch the ground if you stick the grab bar in the ground. It may be partly plugged!

It's a one in a million shot, but you have have knocked the engine out of time. It is ok enough to actually run, but it has no power.

Check the choke cable for damage. I had problems with it during cold weather and even if the thumb bar was in the off position, the choke stayed closed. Might take a visual look into the mouth of the carbs.

If none of the others work, make shure it did not pop the carbs off. Look at the clamps that hold the carbs to the motor. Did it flip over??????

this happened to mine....lift the seat off and look way up under the plastic....gotta get your head down in there.....there should be a black vent hose for the carb or something and it won't run right if it is kinked....mine was running fine one day and then started doing the EXACT thing that yours was doing....I just reran it through the clamps for the airbox lid.

I am not a Mechanic, but my son has a Warrior, it did the same thing. Whit11 is probably right. Push the parking brake adjustment back in, if this is like the warrior, that is a safety switch, so you can't ride with your parking brake on. Sometimes dirt builds up in there and makes it stick. Just spray it with wd-40. Hopefully this is your problem, let us know what happens...

When your Raptor dies, pull in the clutch and see if it keeps running. If it does then it is definately the park prake switch. If not it is most likely something else. All I can say is get rid of those two switches in the clutch perch. I had them on my old Warrior and they gave me nothing but grief. It is no fun when you are on a long ride and your quad keeps cutting out and you can't find some WD 40. Been there done it, never again !

I found what was wrong with it finally. The choke cable had come off the lever and the choke was open the whole time. I put it back in the lever and now it runs fine. Thanks for everyone's help though.
