I have a Detroit locker in the front end of my pickup. This is how it works: if the hubs are locked, but the transfer case is not engaged, it will unlock and behave quite nicely. You don't really even notice that it operates any differently then a stock differential. However, once you engage your transfer case, and send some power up front, it becomes a two handed steering operation! It has outstanding traction, but steering becomes very heavy, and it take some getting used to.
I would imagine that it will operate the same way with a quad. At least the quads with a 2WD/4WD option. If your riding a full time 4x4 it probably won't operate all that much differently then a fully locked front end. When your under power, it pretty much stays locked all the time. I would imagine price would be the determining factor.

This is what I have been waiting to hear more about how it would work and of course the $$$$$. The Kodiak would be a good canidate since we can disengage power to the front axle. But of course HONDA's will get the first bite at this

Hopefully they won't take too long to come out with one for the Kodiak. I've been waiting for a system just like this.
