My issue is that the starter is not engaging, it spins no problem. I pulled the starter out and looked in the hole where it came out of and I dont see anything in there, I would think that there should be a gear in there for the starter to crank the motor. The bike is new to me and doesnt run, it has spark but wont fire. Im going at this one step at a time and figured the starter would be first cause this thing is a bitch to pull over. Anyone with knowledge of this.

 

Actually what I need is a photo of what it looks like with the side cover off(shifter side) because Im pretty sure there are some gears missing.
