why doesn't yamaha update the warrior and put the 426f dirtbike engine it.....i rode the dirt bike the other day and it was awsome....any other opinions
|
The Warrior is an entry level sport/utility 2WD. With a 426, it would become a turbo superjet that would dust a Craptor.
A new full racer 426, why not, a 426 Warrior, I don't think so (too much power to handle...and too expensive). |
Speaking of the YZF426 dirtbike....has anyone compared the speed against the Raptor? What was the result? Raptors speed is about 75mph, what the speed of the YZF426? Thanks...

Eveyone knows you can't directly compare dirt bike and ATV speeds! My brothers old XR 250 was significntly faster than a Raptor. Does this mean a XR 250 powered quad would go that fast? NO
|
My bro's 426 smoked my 660
left it standing there |
What about top speed? 10-20 mph difference?
|
By the time the engine was de-tuned for the quad, the horsepower would be about the same as the Raptor or Banshee and would have the same power delivery as the Banshee. Then Yamaha would have 2 quads appealing to the exact same audience. Definately not good marketing strategy.
|
maybe it would be a bad marketing strategy but you also have to think about the kodiak and big bears being both 400 class quads....not smart....and i highly doubt that it would be faster then the raptor.....theres no way you can compare a dirt bike to a quad
|
You guys mentioned the dirt bike to quad comparisson. Thats hard to do. I have a DRZ400 and have not found a quad yet that can catch it.
one rear tire= way less mass to turn than the 2 rear quad tires. I think the top speed on my 400 is somewhere around 90mph(it's still stock). Not extremely fast( I know) But I get there so much quicker. Like mentioned above.... It's hard to find a bike that won't beat a quad. the power to weight is incredible. |
top speed of 426 is 88
