i have a 1987 banshee. i was kinda hoping i would get this kit to get the a-arms cause the j-arms suck. anyone ever do this to their quad? i have fmf gnarly pipes on there right now and was wondering if the kit would work cause theres not that much room. it would almost seem that if i would bottom out the shocks the tie rods would hit the pipes. i was just wandering if anyone ever tried the kit and if it was worth getting. thanks

You could probally do it but how long it will last nobody knows.. I think the frame is diffrent? You'd have to weld on brackets, have to be a GOOD weld.. I'd just leave it as it is..

Not sure how much the kit cost, but you might want to just see if you could find a newer frame. If you look around it might be cheaper.

LBZ:
I did the j-arm to a-arm conversion and have not had any problems at all! You retain the stock lowers(If you decide not to go wider) and you can use either atv racing's upper a-arm or a stock upper a-arm off of a 91'-00' banshee. It will put the old frame to the specs of a newer so you wont or shouldnt have any problems with pipes fitting. If it can fit on a 00 banshee it will fit on yours. If you dont know how to weld then take it to a local welding shop and I am sure for cheap money they can weld the kit in.... It comes w/ its own "jig" so to speak so it would be hard to screw up unless you dont measure and set it where it needs to be
There is a page on my web site w/ pics of the install... Its about half way down on "My mods" page

I have a 89 J arm Banshee and I have never had trouble with the J-Arms. I have after market pipes on my Banshee and they have never hit any of the suspension. ATV Racing offers an A-Arm conversion kit. Check the Feb 2001 Dirt Wheels (page #66) or call (623) 516-8640. It's priced @ $139.95.
