Default Steering too tight on 2005 Kodiak

Hey folks. My 2005 kodiak has been through some rough riding, and after having the front wheel bearings replaced, I got it back and the steering is waaaay over tight. As in having to strain to steer. I think I know how to fix it, but I'm having trouble finding the correct size tool to remove the nut at the base of the steering column. Has anyone had a similar problem, and can suggest a tool that will fit? There's not room for a deep well socket, and I've not got a wrench that will fit. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance for yalls help

I just helped my brother replace bearings on both his front tires on a 05 400 kodiak. The only part of the steering we touched was poping the tie-rods ends. I wonder if maybe the brake calipers ( which get removed and replaced) hose is not in the right position(?). If you had a shop do the bearings, i would take it back to them as maybe they broke (bent) something. Is it still tight if the front end is off the ground? Just some thoughts!!
