No, I'm saying the Raptor is having start-up problems because of all the Raptor owners reporting problems on the Yamaha Forum. The DS has its problems too. But in favor of the Yamaha is that Yamaha is a very good company and is making its own engine. This means they are in a better position to fix the problems being widely reported, like tranny problems, gear spacing, reverse too high, rear axle jokingly too narrow.
If you are trying to fit between trees, why does the back end need to be narrower than the front?
I want one of these quads, and I am going to gather as much information about them as I can. And TRY to get a real ride, because ultimately, handling is what is most important to me, and I don't think any of them are truly ready right out of the box. Maybe the Cannondale, but it is set up for MX, not for cross country, and it will undoubtably have start-up problems of its own.
I think Honda is most guilty of realeasing models and then being unresponsive to problems.
Yamaha is the best Japanese company, in my opinion, and I think they will respond to their dealers, owners, and maybe even a little scuttlebutt. The word on the street is....Wait for next year's model.

Well let me tell all of you Raptor hater's about my dino. I have owned mine for 4 month's now and the only problem I have had is the choke cable has frozen on me. No BENT AXLES, BROKEN A-ARMS' POPPED OFF CARB'S, CLUTCH'S BEING FRIED, GEARS GONE IN THE TRANNY. And I ride the hell out of bike. It's been slammed into a tree and gone down a couple of hill's the wrong way and not a scratch. Yes it does have some crappy skid plates and the gearing is a bit tall and maybe for some rider's it sit's up high or is too narrow, but other than that you can't fault this quad for being the BADDEST thing out, bar none! Everybody like's to mod their quad to fit thier riding not to fix a factory mistake. It's a RAPTOR thing you would'nt understand. And as far as Yamaha changing it for next year get real. Look at Yamaha's past quad's how long have we wanted disk's on the Blaster, a stronger frame for the Warrior, or a cooler running or redesigned Banshee. Think about it.

The Raptor is one killer machine. The problem with these forums is the harping over small details. I am the type of person who usually knows what he wants from the get-go. After reading numerous posts I was getting hesitant in buying a Raptor...or any quad for that matter!

I kept seeing the posts in my head saying: "this things too narrow, you will be riding wheelies all day, the axle will break, you will get stuck, etc..." I am still gonna get one and know I will be pleased.
