just look at all the problems you guys are having, clutches, shocks tearing away from frames, shocks period, carbs blowing off, axles bending, play in the steering, too high and narrow, transmissions eating themselves up,cheesy 1 crash and you need new ones handle bars, air filter set up,iddleing problems,a-arms snapping and bending, gap between 1st and 2nd gear,.160 rims(do i need to say more about that),no protection from rocks, mud, etc.,reverse gear too high(I believe reverse is for girls that cant pick thier quads up anyways),axle nuts that you have to tighten back up after almost every ride, man i dont know y you guys even try to compare yourselve to the ds.its a joke!type what ever you want you know its the truth!

So what is your point? Is it 1 person having all these problems? For a first year quad I and many others aren't complaining. No matter what quad it is, the first year is bound to have it's problems.
Are you in the forum just to be a D***? I'm sorry. Your probably one of the guys (with a different name) asking all the questions like, "Can't decide, DS 650, 400EX, Raptor, yadda, yadda, yadda. Please help me decide" You know I'm right!
So, if you don't have anything better to do (with your time) than to "bash" other peoples rides, (go F*** yourself) and post back on how you did.

Myself, and I can probably speak for the long list of people here. Not many people are disappointed with the Raptor.
By the way, what kind of mods do you have on your "KillerB"? Ooops, I'm sorry! I forgot, must be Ron Woods, you don't have any other options!
Boy, that thing must be KILLER!!!!!!!!!DUDE!!!!!!

Yamaha has a bucketful of startup problems with the Raptor, and a fanbase with a real attitude. Hey I like Yamaha too, but you got to call a spade a spade.(That's cards) Hopefully Yamaha will fix these problems at the source, the assembly line, and not just band-aids at the dealers, or relying on the aftermarket to solve their problems for them. Maybe this is one reason Yamaha has been so stingy with this new model, a slow release to see what kind of problems pop up. And man, what a list of problems. The guys that are happy with their Raptors have aftermarket lists that read like,
well, like really, really long lists of aftermarket parts. Looks like you need $10 grand in your Raptor before it works like it is supposed to........
Silly later,,,,Fourlix

No Fourlix
. You can't get there from here. I don't think it works quite like that. You are essentially trying to say that Raptors must have problems since you see so many guys with aftermarket parts. Wow by that way of thinking you would have to think that 250r's and 400 ex's must be crap since they are so frequently modded. I think that the isolated problems with Raptors get talked up quick since it's a first year quad and many people would LOVE to find huge faults with it.
You say that a guy needst to have 10k into a Raptor before it "works like it's supposed to". What does that mean? The Raptor is great in stock form but CAN be modded to better suit your riding conditions, rocky narrow mountain trial or sand dunes etc. And what is this long list of problems you are referring to? and more importantly does this list even exist? I have run into or ridden with at least 20 Raptors at the local dunes and have only heard of one bent axel from a jump-gone-bad and another guy who's carb boots were blowing off because he was trying to get his jetting dialed in. When you hear about a problem with a Raptor it is almost always someone's brother's friend knew this guy who's pregnant sister dated this guy who had this quad and boy what a piece of crap it is. I have run into two guys at the dunes with DS's that have both told me that they are on their second engines in less than 20 hours total time along with numerous other problems but I don't go running into the Bombardier forum to announce to people that the DS is a piece of crap because they all blow engines.
I also don't buy into your theory about Yamaha intentionally putting out a limited release of the Raptor to see how fast they self destructed, It seems to me that Yamaha is selling them as fast as they can build them which is pretty fast because there are a whole bunch of them where I live.
DS650's and Raptor's both rip it up pretty good, but I am getting sick of this Raptor bashing citing hearsay and rumors about problems real or imagined. People should quit spreading mis-information about things that they themselves heard second, third or fourth hand. If there really was a widespread problem with the Raptors I would be the first to want to hear about it. I have asked the service department at three local dealerships if they see many problems with Raptors coming in and they tell me it is no different than any other model. If a Raptor is crap and shouldn't have been released because it wasn't ready as it seems you are trying to say. Fine!!! Just please back it up with some real facts or reasoning.
