The most common thing wrong would be the clutch plates need replacing. It could be the transmission, but I would check the clutch 1st. I put Curtis Sparks clutches in my 660 when I had it, but Barnett makes kits, as well as others. You will have to drain the oil. Take the clutch cover off the right side of the engine, remove the clutch plates, examine them and make sure they are to specs. Hopefully they won't be, anything else could cost you! Make sure you use the correct oil for wet clutches (Yamalube or equiv) and soak the new clutch plates in that oil for a while before installing them. I'm sure there are detailed instructions on the web somewhere on exactly how to do it.

Yep, probably be something wrong with the trans. It's probably the clutch though.
