Default how fast

I have an 88 model yfm225. The best it's ever done was 42mph. I rarely run it that hard nowadays. I bought it new and have had it for 29yrs. Only items I've ever replaced are batteries, tires, brakes, and 3 spark plugs in 29 yrs. It starts every time with just a touch of the button. This thing has hauled a deer on front, one on back with my buddy sitting on top of it, more than once. I'd be hard pressed to stray from Yamaha after this.

Welcome to the club. 1988 YFM200DXU purchased new in August of 1988 by my father. I was 4 years old. Other then a small carb issue at the moment, and a faulty battery, it's still alive and kicking with no complaints from me or dad.
It's the machine I learned to ride on. It's also where I started to learn how to drive a manual transmission.
