1995 yamaha warrior

I just purchased a 1995 yamaha warrior that had no spark but a have fixed that and it is running great .the problem is that when i try to move shifter into reverse it kills the engine.does anyone have any idea why

Check the wires at the reverse lever. Make sure all the connections are good. If they aren`t it stalls when it goes in reverse.
