Default Need Opinions on Yamaha YFZ450 vs Raptor 700

Ok, decided not to buy a Banshee. Looking into buying a YFZ450 or the Raptor 700. I am 6' tall, around 290. I like to ride on trails, sand, hit some jumps, etc. Mostly will ride on dirt, mud trails. Like the EFI & reverse on the Raptor & the overall look. Prefer lower maintenance & longevity.

Which one will suit me the best.

The 450 is better designed for the race track, if that is where you want to spend most of your time. The 700 is a better play quad for trails and dune riding. Once again, take the time to ride them both and YOU decide which one fits you best. Quads that some might like may be quads that you will hate. Me, I have never met a quad, 250 and above, (except Chinese made) I didn't like. I just happened to like some more than others. And I have been riding ATV's for almost 30 years.

Prefer lower maintenance & longevity.
Get the raptor same 45 hp but the 700 can make it with ease and lazily while having more bottom end ft/lb torque.
The 450 Motorcross motor has to scream to make 45 hp, their is just is no replacement for displacement.

I looked at the 450 before I bought my quad and thought that it was very nice but yet I loved the reverse on the 700 being that I do alot of trail riding. I am 5-11 256 and LOVE my choice of the raptor 700r se.Let me tell ya when I depress that thumb lever it treats me as if I was 50 lbs lol. front wheels come off the ground without even trying. good luck with your choice again I love my quad but I love all things off road not a hater here lol

I was looking at the new Raptors and the YFZ450's at the dealership and they had them sitting side-by-side. I sit on both of them back to back and I felt like I was sitting "on top" of the 450, where I felt like I was "on" the Raptor. Again, I am 6'-1" tall.

Thanks! I always liked the Tri-Z better, but alot of people have not even heard of them or even know that Yamaha made a racing 3 wheeler. Most people only know about the Honda 250R and 350X.
