I'm thinking about selling our bayou 220 and getting a warrior or another 300ex. Are the warriors any good are they realiable? I'm not worried about jumping. I mostly trail ride. Do they drift easy? I'm not worried about power and speed as long as it keeps up with a 300ex I'm happy. Are they known for any issues?

 

The 348cc Yamaha motor has been around for 25+ years. The Honda is also reliable , just find the best deal you can of the two and you can't go wrong.http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...=309880&go2=Go A Warrior is the same as a 2013 Raptor.

 

I do like the EX a bit better. They aren't quite as fast stock, but handling is better and some smaller things like chain maintenance is easier. I recently just purchased a used 300EX for one of my kids. Dang but I had forgotten just how much fun these little guys can be!

 

Is the raptor 350 still in production for 2014?

I didn't really like the way my 300ex rode. The suspension was a bit stiff. The reverse and choke is a bit goofy too. I like the way it drifted though. Is $1600 too much for a warrior?

 

Its not showing on Yamahas 2014-2015 list. Maybe its gone. The 348 Motor is still around in the 2015 350 Grizzly.

Its about condition not year when buying used.
I seen 2001 ATVs in better shape then some 2009s.
Some atvs spend a lot of time parked in a garage other are ridden hard every other day, so its hard to say if its worth $1600.
They were a $5000 ATV when new.

 

The one I want is mint it has an aftermarket exhaust filter and jetted carb. It's a 2001 The guy bought it 6 months old and never raced it or abused it. Just trail riding. He wants $2000 obo so maybe $1600. Thanks for all the help. Do the warriors jerk forwards after you let off the gas and get on it again?

 

I live in Canada where your lucky if it runs for $1600.

I agree it's all about condition, not age, when buying used. I have had 2 Warriors
(88 and 89), and one TRX300EX, a 2001. Of the 3, the 88 was in the best shape,
and I like older quads cuz the carbs are set richer and run better.

Both ATVs are hand-clutch with reverse and park, but the Warriors definitely have
more power. Since both are super-common, parts are easy to get, cheap. I do
prefer how Honda implements the reverse control, on the left hand grip where
it "belongs".

You can pick up good working units of either around here for $1500-1700.

I prefer both of these light sub-400# sporty quads for trail riding, vs. big, clunky
500-700# 4x4 utilities.

Also, getting smaller drive sprockets and larger driven sprockets to lower the final
drive ratio is easy.
