I ride now with the lid off on my Raptor. I still have the stock filter I just screwed 2 screws in the top of the adapter part so it stays, which works great. But is it bad to leave that hose just hanging there? I notice that when the engine is running, air blows out of it. I have seen some of your guys ideas for dealing with it, but I was wondering if it was bad for me to just leave it?

I used a differential vent valve off of a GM truck. It cost about $1.50. Fit's the hose perfect. I'll try to scrounge up a part # for you tomorrow if you want.

Why do you want to take the lid off? And as for the tube put a breather filter on it and save your tranny.

THere is speculation that the crankcase vent hose will suck dirt and debris into the lower end of the engine (even though some other quads are made the same way...1 example is the Warrior). To be on the safe side, I just picked up a small automotive breather at the local parts store and zip-tied it out of the way.

K&N also makes vent tube filters. I have seen them in the Dennis Kirk catalog.
