I want to get a raptor but there are a few things I need to know???
#1
Hi,
I want to get a raptor but I need a few questions answered before I make the final decision. My questions are:
1. I keep on reading in the four wheeler magazine that the raptor is geared pretty high from first to second. What size sprockets should I use to fix this problem (front and rear if I even need rear)?
2. I also read that it is tippy and what would I need to do to fix this problem?
3. I heard that the raptors front end comes up to easy and I want to extend my swing arm and I was wondering how many inches I should extend it to fix this problem. I read mostly in trails with lots of whoops and some sand dunes.
Thanks for your information and sorry if this has been posted before.,

You guys bitch too much, but here it goes. 12 tooth sprocket for normal riding, 11 tooth works great for me at the dunes ( why have 5 gears if you are only using 2) also the 11 tooth will keep you out of second, which is realy weak on 2001 raptors.
Mine did not seem top heavy desert riding, but dunes are a different story. When you have the paddles and razors mounted, have them mounted on extreme offset wheels.
I have really beefy paddle tires on mine, so I could not keep the front end down at all. so you can get some paddles that will spin like crazy, or opt for the 700.00 lonestar +4 swingarm. I chose the swingarm. With the +4 I can run china wall ( the steepest tallest power eating mother of all dunes at glimis) full throttle and it will just dance the front tires untill right at the top, then I get off the throttle, cuz it hurts.
