Default What year is my Yamaha Banshee

Hi ATV Connection

Just bought a Yamaha Banshee for restoration.

After searching the internet I can't find what year my Banshee is.

The number in front of the foot peg, left side, is: 3GG-213096 2001

The number on the engine is : 3GG-212741.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks

Best regards

Kell

Those numbers don't really help, that's not the vin ( in red )...you need the vin number. The 10th digit will be the year. But the year doesn't really matter in regards to parts....unless it's an 87 model...and that's only for the "J" arms.

That is the number which is stamped into the frame. Is the another place where it might be located ?

After reading this page i think it's a 1997 to 2001.

Yamaha Banshee - How do you know what year Banshee you have? | Motor City ATV

It has the square plug with rounded corners at the CDI boks and the small tail light

There might be another place to find the vin....but the only one I about know is the left side of the frame that you are referring to. If you can't find/read the "missing" digits in the vin, then you might google the CDI part number....that should get you within a few years of the actual model year.

The United States had them from 1987 to 2006. The Banshee continued its production in Canada until 2008 and in Australia until 2012.

I did not know they had that long of a run.
