Ive been brought up in a family that has no history or interest in quads, so it was hard for them to accept the whole 4wheelin thing. Ever since I was about 8, Id see pictures in magazines and books of quads and seee them fly up the roads and say to myself man id love to have one of them. After like 2 years of begging and saving, i bought a gocart. That thing was the biggest peice of crap i ever owned. I sold that and a little while later, I had enough saved up to buy a little LT80, and man those things are the funnest!! I had that for like 3 years and beat the heck out of it with not one problem. Then when I was 15 I sold that. After a few weeks more of relentless begging, my parents let me buy a 1997 Blaster. Its been great so far, im now 16 and hope to have many more quading years ahead of me.. well now that you all heard my life story ill shut up..

I was like Suzuki, my family had no interest in them, but in 8th grade my friend bought an RT100 dirtbike and I split the price with my parents for a used Mojave and fell in love with riding. Shortly after I sold it and thought I wanted to ride dirtbikes and bought a 87'RM125. After a year of that, I sold it again and bought a used 89' Warrior. I drove my parents nearly crazy. Then when I got my license I sold that to lift my old truck etc. To no avail (7years later) two of my friends just went out and bought warriors last summer. So I went and bought a used 2000 wolverine, Great bike but no fun when riding with banshees, 400ex's, and warriors. So of course I sold that one in October and bought a used 400ex. I was should never have bought it, it was beat and ran terrible. After much frustration I sold it and ordered a Raptor. Currently I'm waiting for it to come in while all my other friends are out riding. I think I have a problem buying and selling, but I love riding different bikes. Looking forward to reading everyone elses stories.

For me it mostly started out as a Father/Son activity.

I started out riding Snowmobiles about 15 years ago, a friend of the family took my Dad and I for a ride on a Yamaha SS440. Shortly after that we went on a Snowmobile trip to Door County, WI and rented 2 Skidoo 440's, that was the first time on any real snowmobile trails. Came back from that trip and purchased a used Yamaha Exciter.

After a few years it seemed like we weren't getting much riding time in and always waiting around for snow. Thats when we decided it was time to look for something that works all year round.

I have been quading for about 10-12 years now. I started with a 1984 Honda TRX200 and then a 87 250X, and last October I purchased a new 2001 Raptor

Typically ride at Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Attica, Baldwin MI Trails, and always looking for new places. Just nice to get away from it all and relax w/ friends & family.

When I was in Junior High my friend had a Small ATC (80?) that was too small for us but better than nothing. We buzzed around in his back yard for hours at at time. My Family had no interest in ATV's at all.

That was 82/83, and like everyone else, I wanted a 250R really bad. Years later (like '95) I was looking in the paper and saw a '84 ATC250R for $400 so I picked it up on a whim. It was Demo'd, but I bought it anyways. I never got to do much with that other than put around. I guess I got to satisfy a childhood fantasy. The motor seized so I gave it to a friend.

Now, a few months ago, I walked into a Yamaha dealer on a Saturday with a buddy (same as above, he never got it working) who was thinking about a Banshee. A week later, He walked away with a Banshee and I walked away with a Raptor (they actually had one in stock so I was able to impulse buy, Doh!)

We now seem to be spending atleast one weekend a month at Pismo Beach! :> See ya in the Sand!

Well, to tell you the truth, I can't remember when I first got hooked because I was to young to remember! I remember looking at Dirtwheel mags and those dealer panflits with there quads on them, sitting at the edge of my bed pretending to drive, walking through the wood trails pretending to ride and looking out the rear car window while driving and pretending to be riding in the ditches. At this young age I was living in Ottawa so I didn't see them around as much, but we used to vacation in New Brunswick where they were all over. I used to have eyes like a hawk and if there was an ATC beside a house or one driving in the ditches, I would completely loose it and freak out! I'm telling u, I was a ATV FREAK! Still am, just ask my girlfriend, she'll tell ya! She has to tell me to shut up about them. hehe!! If her back gets better, later she is planning on buying one to come out with me, then we'll spend some real quality time together! hehe!! : )
