Yamaha breeze acting weird

It runs well but when I put it in forward or reverse I have to push the throttle half way before it even tries to move. Any ideas?

You don't say what model,but most are the same on the clutch system. Could be a worn slipping belt or clutches need to be checked out or both. 2002 Yamaha BREEZE (YFA1PC) Clutch | Cheap Cycle Parts
