So a few weeks ago I bought an 06 special edition. It wouldn't idle at all, but I got it to idle by tuning in the idle screw, though something still isn't right about it. It runs good, but it dies while idling half the time and I still have to give it throttle to start. I've never owned a two stroke but I think I'm hearing the "pinging" while right above idle RPM. So, I know these are cheap to rebuild, so I if get a new piston and rings I want to go ahead and get a brand new carb. It's got a full fmf exhaust already, but I want to do things like vforce reeds. Would I have to jet the carb? What other cheap mods are there to do? All I have around me are dealerships, so it's going to be costly to do this, I think they charge about $70/hr, so can anyone give me an estimated cost for piston, rings, carb (jetted), reeds, and anything else I'd have to upgrade along the way? Also, does a 400ez rear shock bolt right up without any modification?
