Default Which to go with

I want the 2018 kodiak 450 with power steering $7,000.00,but i could get the basic kodiak 700 model same price.Ive never ridden over 35 mph so don't care about the speed that much, around here we ride logging roads not much mud , so which to go with ????

All I can say, power steering isn't about driving fast, it's more about riding in the rough stuff where, when you hit a tree root or a rock at 5 or 10mph, it tries to yank the bars out of your hands. I have 2 similar Arctic Cats, both are long wheel base heavy TRV models, 1 gas 1 diesel. Diving the diesel over my worst trails is a workout, will tire you out. The gas one with power steering, however makes it a walk in the park. If you've never had it, don't know what you are missing. I think I'd rather give up all the power of my AC 700 for a 450 if I could keep the power steering. OK, almost, haha.

Default which way to go

Thanks, thats exactly why i wanted the eps, after 4 or 5 hours of riding the shoulders start to hurt a bit. Don't need the big engines i like to cruise around the woods at med to low speeds to enjoy the scenery !!!

The 450 should have plenty of power for what you want to do. I know this is a Yamaha thread but I'd recommend the Can Am Outlander 450L DPS as another one to look at. It should be roughly about the same price and the 450 engine in the Outlander makes quite a bit more power than the Yamaha 450 engine, 38 hp vs 30 I believe.

With the amount of money your referring to 7000 bucks you can get a Kymco side x side for 7500, take a friend along, no tired shoulders and power steering is not needed. You can also haul more gear! They are not a Chinese machine but a well engineered and designed machine from Tiwain with a great reputation for quality and readily availiable parts. I moved from an ATV almost two years ago into my side x side and will never go back and the Kymco 450i will fit in the back of a pickup truck! Just some food for thought!!
