I was thinking of installing a high compression piston in my wolverine.Would I notice a difference
with just a stock size,I'm not fussy about reboring.Did anybody try this and if so,what are your comments on it.
P.S.I already have the performance kit just looking to get a little more go.

Hi Lester
I have a 00Wolverine. My friend helped me with my performance work and we went with a 10.750:1 compression. We decided to bore .02 over only because my oil light came on once so we were not sure about any irregularities in the cyclider wall. Also he was told any thing higher than 10.750:1 compression you would have to use a hgher octane rating than 93, and depending were your riding 93 is easy to obtain compared to having special racing fuel. You will also need to obtain stronger valve springs to install too. Also realize that by uping your compression your engine will run hotter I would suggest running a synthetic oil since it should perform better with the increase engine temp, but only after you give the the piston time to break in(same as a break in period on a new quad).
Hope this info helps,
Labs
