2003 kodiak 400 killswitch issue

Went to start atv, turned key to on position dash lights came on, went to turn the killswitch off to start atv dashboard lights went off and wont turn back on, light bar and fan are connected by toggle switch and are still working. any ideas

Sounds similar to something I am working on. It is either a bad key switch or a ground problem. As I could buy a new key switch for under $10 on Amazon, I bought one to start, but have not had time to plug it in. I have a 2003 Kodiak 400 4x4, as well.
