I have a 2000 banshee, and I've read that the stock filter is really restrictive. I am thinking about getting a K&N with a precharger.

What do I rejet to (main jet size and pilot setting)and do I need to rejet at all?

Is the K&N filter a good first mod to the Banshee, its bone stock now? What else should I do and in what order of importance. I am not looking at spending big money, maybe a few hunded dollars.

yes you need to rejet and the size depends on your elevation.. when you jet it make sure you do plug checks on NEW plugs (white=not good to lean, shiny black=not good to lean, tan=about perfect, wetish black=to rich).. after a few runs you should get it down..

I had a 97 shee all I did to mine was pipe, new reeds, and K&N filters.. makes a nice differencs on the bike..
Good luck!

You should also get a Pro-Design Pro-Flow, the stock system stinks for sealing.

Yeah that Pro Flow set up is nice, but you pay $90 bucks for a shiny piece of metal you can' t see. Take the stock one, cut the cage off. I drilled 4 small holes, one in each corner. Run a nice bead of some kind of sealant around it making sure it doesn't squish all over and bolt it to the box. Least expensive and purpose served. Jetting you will have to play with, I would also invest in a prefilter. It's inexpensive and a little extra insurance, cuts down on cleaning of the filter also.
