Ok, I know a few of you out there have had (Raptor) tranny problems in the past and I need to know what has transpired.

Yesterday evening while riding my Raptor wouldn't go into 2nd gear or anything other than being stuck in 1st. I shut it off, held in the clutch, grabbed the gear shifter with my hand and pulled up and down pretty hard on it for a couple of minutes. It did go out of 1st and was fine after that. I'm thinking 2nd gear is going out!

Again, I know a few of you have had 2nd gear problems.

-Can you tell me what happened when you had problems?
-Can you tell me what was done to fix it?
-Do you think it is second gear that is damaged or something elae with the tranny?
-By chance has Yamaha had any recall for any tranny parts? (I heard they have a new and improved 2nd gear for it now, TRUE?)

This sucks!!! Warranty has been out for just over 1 month!

Any and all help is appreciated. I will be calling Yamaha tonight to discuss my problem.

Thanks all,
Swytak

I have not experienced the problem myself but I do believe there is a new second gear(hopefully the ratio is different) but I think the problem was with a weak spring. It would not fully engage/disengage the gears. Not 100% sure or helpful !@#$#
