Unhappy 1998 Grizzly 600

Bought this quad used and it runs great. Starts easy, idles good, stays running. The problem is the rubber boot from carb to intake on engine pops off when I accelerate. I have put it back on so many times it is beyond frustrating. Is it simply the clamp is old? I see no tears in the boot and it just won't stay on.

Is it on solid? This should slide over both the carb and the intake, and have a hose clamp style clamp around both ends that fasten it down around both metal surfaces with a phillips screw. Once that is tight, there should be no way it would come off. Does it have the clamp on both ends?
