Hey,
I am interested in getting a raptor, but I have one concern. I am a big guy (~6'3" 310 lbs.) and was wondering could I fit on the bike comfortably and does it have enough preload and damping setting for me not to bottom the sucker out every time i get a littke air (though i dont plan on mxing etc, just the occasional rolling hill etc). Any ideas?

I'm 6'2" and 300+ and the Raptor fits nicely. I don't try to grab much air but I haven't bottomed out that I know of, but I haven't put that much time on it either. I have the rear preload set to the max and the front is in the middle. If I start bottoming out I will look for heavy duty springs from Yamaha. I put heavy duty springs on my Scrambler before I ever rode it and would have done it on the Raptor except Yamaha didn't offer anything last Oct. Now I'm not sure I need them.

Overall I think the quad fits very well and I was surprised, because the Honda 400EX feels too small.

i am 270 6'1 amd i get nice air on my bike it has bottomed maybe twice...by the way in your not bottoming occasionally your not getting the most out of your suspension...and yeah the 400ex was way too small..the only thing the raptor coulduse is a little more cushion in the seat

I have to agree with everyone else, the 400ex is way to small in terms of peg to seat height. My Raptor fits me much better. I'm also a big guy at 6'3" 260 lbs. I've gotten some decent air and have not bottomed yet, but the suspension feels soft. I need to stiffen it for me, I just haven't tried to figure out how to do that on the rear shock. Besides that I LOVE my raptor.

my brother in law rode my raptor last weekend.he is 6'2 330lbs,his ride is a 600 grizzly,he loved the raptor and said he alot of fun,but ill tell you what i saw,and think.first of all he'd need at least a plus 2" swing arm,the front end would come up in 4th just by rolling on the gas, second to make it ride correct it would need heavier springs.but if you weigh 330 your going to have to do some changes to a quad probably designed for guys 170-200.also even though i hate to say it,for all the same reasons i bought a raptor(light weight, smaller size, ect.) a guy your size might want to ride a ds 650 before you buy a raptor.my buddy has a ds and other than being heavy,BIG,and a musterd bucket its a pretty nice quad, and we both have full exhaust, air box modds ect. and they run pretty much bar to bar with each other.

I'm 6'4", about 255. Feels great, good fit. Suspsension is better than I thought it would be, just have to tighten the rear spring up, and put the fronts somewhere in the middle. I think it's great, friends of mine that are much lighter think that it's too tight, but it wasn't set up for them.

I'm 7'8" and weigh 522 pounds. It's by far the roomiest sport quad I've owned. It tends to bottom out a bit when I roll over the curb and the shocks no longer have any rebound, but other than that it's great. Just kidding about my size, but dang - some of these guys are BIG!
