I went back with the stock ones. It seemed to idle smoother with them.

 

Awesome news. I can't wait to get back from vacation to try the fix. Recently, I've sucked at clearing some double doubles that I used to do with ease and have been barely beating a modified 400ex in drag races. I have been racking my brain trying to figure why my bike runs pretty well at the top end but lost all its low end ZAP! Sure enough I did that same modification about a month ago.

Thanks for posting your problem and fix. I think I will start keeping any modifications in a notebook along with the date I did it.
