I acquired a 80 moto4 for my 6 yr old, I dont know what year it is, All Red in color. I want her to learn how to ride before we get her a nicer quad. Problem is that having a hard time getting this thing to fire. It has good spark, its getting gas, kill switch is in "run" position. I havent done a compression check yet, but, I can feel exhaust as it turns over. Her uncle said he rode it and it was running when picked it up. Anyone with any knowledge on these please reply.

It might be the reeds? Just take the carb off and look inside the reed cage, you should be able to tell if one is broken? anyways, worth a try...

Worked on two different yamaha four wheelers (I believe they where moto-4's, only yellow). both had thier tappet clearance closed up causing them not to start. Adjusted them up and they ran fine. Hoped this helped.
