As per an earlier post, my front, right shock broke clean through the metal near the bottom. The bike is a 1.6 years old and Yamaha gave me a new one which arrived on schedule today, (after a 2 week wait). I just have to switch them out myself but it was easy, the top mount was a little tight though. I can't say now, that I've never had any probs w/ the Kodiak but I think this was just a defective shock. Score one for Yamaha and my dealer for hooking me up!!

Thats great. The only problem I have had is two water pumps and one fan motor. Do me a favor and look at your water pump and see if it has a clear plastic breather tube coming down from the bottom. I got mine back the other day and it is different than the old one. Im thinking they have gave me newer updated pump.

Thanks Tim

It seems I've seen a clear tube between the swingarm and engine but I'll check. Hate to hear about the water pump prob. I've been watching mine due to the early posts when I bought it but so far ok at 1000+ miles. Did they replace it free for you?? I had read it was an early production run problem with the seal not installed correctly.
