As I have posted before, atv mag results change from issue to issue and are not very reliable. So take the info as you will.

Despite criticism, I think the Shoot-out was fair.
I ride a DS, and my son has a new Raptor. The Raptor IS awesome, even more so with an Eliminator axle. The DS would have done much better with a set of TimmyBoy upper A-arms and works front shocks. I can't believe the DS is marketed as "King of the Dunes" with the miserly amount of castor that it has. Any time you are in sand the center of the tire contact patch is moved forward, decreasing "trail" the distance the center of the tire patch follows the imaginary pivot line where it touches the ground.
The DS is a great machine, but it is big and heavier than anything else in its' class. That means less versatility. It should have won the Dunes part of the contest. With more castor it would have. But it is not going to win the MX or the trails/woods..
Congrats to the Raptor, it deserves the win.
It should come with a better, wider axle. It is very cool that it tied the Cannondale without it.
