Sounds like the carb floats are incorrectly adjusted and allowing the fuel to overflow from the carb bowls.
Since you are smelling fuel, the overflow tubes are probably removed from the bottom of the fuel bowls and fuel is leaking on the engine case.

The elevation here is about 700'. I am running the same silencer. Just this week I was having problems blowing the carbs off and replaced the clamps and jets. I went from a 145/140 to 150/140 and it seems to have made a big difference for the better, but I have only ridden it for about an hour on loose hard pack. The last time I rode it was in the dunes so it may be just the difference in terrian. I pulled the plug yesterday and it looked good but a touch on the light side. So after my trip to the dunes (2600')this weekend, I will try going with 155/150s.

150/140??? Using the stock jets the carbs should be 2 jet sizes apart. This means you should be using a 150/145 main jet.

Ooops! Caught in my own trap. It is this laptop. It's hard to type while riding this Raptor....It was from a 145/140 to 150/145. Thanks for catching it.
