I understand that a few people have had a bad experience with Trinity Racing, not following through with their promise to do work in a timely manner.

I want to tell you about my experience after dealing with them.

I wanted to say that I have had a very pleasant experience with these guys and would not hesitate to work with them again. H a r r y the owner has called me on several occasions keeping me up to date with the progress of my top-end. Before I sent it they said 2 weeks, and they kept that promise.

What am I having done? 680 big bore kit, 11-1 JE high comp piston, head ported, 3 angle valve job, larger intake valve, high performance cam, included is jetting and dyno graphs of the particular set-up.

Again, some people have had trouble getting things from Trinity on a timely basis and after reading that I was skeptical of sending my top-end to them. I did anyway and am very pleased with the service that I recieved and would recommend them to anyone.

Later,
Swytak

Sounds great!
So you have your top end now?
How 'bout those graphs? Can you post them or give a bit of info. on them?
Thank yourself NOW for getting a good piston that will last a long time....are the rings file-fit? If so, did they file them?
What type of fuel is recommended?
How much green stuff?
Sorry for the nosey post, but it sounds like a possible alternative for me.

Gary,

Trinity (H a r r y) just called me this morning (8:00am CST) which is 6:00am California to tell me they finshed my motor last night. He said they would be sending it this morning and asked how I would like it to be delivered. I told him to send UPS ground, so I will have it no later than 6/5 Tuesday. I had this date scheduled with my guys to do the final work and dial it in.

So the answer to your questions: No, I don't have it yet, but I can tell you that I can't freakin wait. He told me this morning that on Memorial day weekend they took this same set-up to some hill in CA (supposedly the best place to ride there since it's so hot) and smoked everyone, even with the stock swing-arm. This will be a wheelie monster until I get a +2 swing-arm. I'm sure this thing is bad if what they say is true regarding the power.

Anyway, as soon as I get it back I'll take digital pictures of everything and post the info here. Can't wait!!!

Take care,
Swytak

Sure Harry took care of you.. you're one of the first raptor mods, and I'm sure he was personally involved.

However wait until you need a replacement part, you'll play hell getting it. I have waited now for over 2 months for banshee pistons, have been told harry will call me back 3 times. Harry is done.. NOTHING. NADA. ZILCH. Worthless!!!

I have $2500 of trinity stuff that is virtually useless becuase the trinity pistons suck. The pin ring holder is drilled overly deep, which in turns allows the pin to push in, which allowed the ring to spin in the sleeve. The ring moved over to a port.. and SNAP. There goes a top end. This has happened on 2 different 420 kits that I have seen in the last 6 months. The one time I did actually get to talk with Harry, he said "Oh, call Wisceo, they make the pistons for us". I told him "No Harry you lazy ***, you call YOUR supplier and fix the problem, I spent my $2500 with YOU, not wiseco". This was obviously to much to handle, as he promised to look into it and call us back. We have never heard a thing. Now we can't even get pistons if we try to pay for them, there on "back order" yet again and still isn't returning my phone calls.

I wouldn't allow harry the horrible or anyone else at trinity for that matter touch my Raptor with a 10 foot pole.. I want this quad to run right, and just not for the first 6 months.

Just my personal $.02 about trinity...

BansheeBrad,

Sincerly, I'm sorry you've had such poor luck with Trinity. What I don't understand is why you have given up on speaking with Harry? I have called there two seperate times and he answered the phone. He can't be that freakin hard to get a hold of.

I also have seen your past posts. By no means do I want to get in a big squable over Trinity, but in your old sig it said "the bike rocks" but "the customer service sucks".

Now you say that, basically they do sh*t work, the bike sucks, they don't stand behind the work or suppliers parts and Harry is so terribly hard to contact that you said F*** it...

Again, I don't want to start a pissing match, but you used to say one thing and now you "seem" to be saying another. Am I taking this the wrong way, am I misunderstanding what you've tried to convey in both the "old sig" and what your saying now? Please explain, not just for me, but for any others who may be considering doing business with Trinity.

I hope you don't take this as I'm questioning that you haven't had problems, because I don't believe you would go as far as you have if you didn't have some problems.\ I just want to understand what your saying from weeks ago to now. (customer service, quality of work, quality of parts used, capabilities, knowledge, hard to contact).......?

Later,
Swy

Swytak..

I'm not trying to get in a pissing match either... let me try to (with out anger for trinity for once) say what's up..

Trinity does make quality go fast parts... I have never denied that... The banshee was a beast.. it ran like nothing else..

I will also agree with Harry that Wiseco made the defective pistons, not his shop. However the point I could never get across with Harry/Trinity is I didn't buy from Wiseco, I spent $2500.00 with trinity and then was basically ignored once a *real* problem occured. I then sat for 6 weeks with NO quad to ride, now wouldn't there lack of help/support **** you off?

I have gotten through a couple times to Harry, but again he basically pushed the blame off on Wiseco. Wiseco says talk to Trinity. I have to agree with Wiseco on this one, It's trinitys engine.

I finally said screw it, I'll just buy the darn parts to fix it. (Whats another $300 to trinity) <Shock> 2 to 3 month (or possible longer) backlog!!! And they are the only place that carries the piston in the correct size! The vitos are 1mm smaller. So not only was I having to pay for it, but the total down time on the quad was going to be 3 to 5 months. Now thats service, isn't it? Not even carrying replacement pistons for a engine kit that only you sell?

At this point I ebayed off every trinity part I own, and I'm very happy I did. Let someone else deal with harry and trying to get replacement parts. I still supposedly have my name "first" in the que for replacement parts, but I've been there for 6 weeks now, I don't expect a call anytime soon. As far as harry calling me back, we are at almost 3 months now, so I'm going to say he isn't going to talk with Wiseco and take care of me, and I really don't feel I should have to repeatedly call him to get service. A mans business is only as good as his word, and to me Harry completely dropped the ball with me as his customer. I'm a very reasonable person, if someone would have at least taken a look at the pistons to see the defect, I would have been happy, but I see they have been busy making Raptor mods, not tending to old customers, and why should they, they already have my $2500.00. Just remember that in a year or 2 if you need parts, thats all I'm saying.

Brad

Swytak,

One last thing, I am in no way trying to steal thunder from your Raptor mods, I am sure they will be VERY nice, and the engine will work. I was all smiles for weeks and months after the banshee was put back together, again it was a rockin quad.

I am just trying to let everyone know there is a lack of *real* customer support down the road with trinity. Trust me, it's no fun to sit weeks and months on the side lines waiting for quad parts while everyone else is riding.

If I had it to do over again I would go with the FMF big bore kit, but thats only out for the banshee right now... and I didn't have that choice when I bought the Trinity stuff.

I'm happy now with my Raptor, and to have Harry/Trinity out of my life.. I just want to enjoy riding..

very, very disturbing BansheeBrad.
i spoke w/ Harry today about doing my raptor as well. he talks a freakin' good line, that's for sure. i was almost ready to UPS my top today. he says 103mm piston, mid Webcam, port/polish, 3 angle valve w/ oversized middle intake valve and headers/pipe w/ 50/50 blend 92/103 octane results in 63HP to the rears and nobodys Raptor is even close. that's the rap.
you are right about concentrating on the raptor now. he really dissed the banshee and said how tired he was of it and how the raptor is such an "exciting" bike and project. he WAS genuinely enthusiastic. i cannot blame him for this... he is probably SOOO sick of 'shees year after year and now there is a new project that seems to be responding well to his work. however, your point about down the road is well taken. what if 2 years from now a REAL raptor killer gets released by RED or suzuki??? what? a NEW PROJECT and screw the raptors w/ their 103 or 105mm pistons (no longer available )??? oh, BTW - harry said that JE just bought Wiseco... was he dropping a hint or telling me something between the lines?
anyway, looks like we need more info here. harry says he has done 187 raptors to date. OK dudes, where are ya and what do you think?? i'm dying to know. out
