i was down to a dealership the other day and i counted over 15 brand new raptors in stock! holy cow! there were even a few more used ones. i also spoke with a mechanic out in the garage while i was lookin at a cannondale, which was having the spindles replaced. i asked him if they had had any raptors in for the notorious 2nd gear problem and he said they had one and he strictly attributed it to abuse. i disagreed with him but that is what he thought anyways.

None around here... maybe you can find a rare one or two in stock. When I went to buy mine 6 weeks ago, I had to call 6 different dealers before I found one in stock, every one else was 2 to 6 weeks behind in orders. Thats here in the Cincy Ohio Area.

Needless to say I payed MSRP.

The dealer I purchased mine from has none and the dealer I go to for service has had one for about 2 weeks.

Regarding what your dealer said about the tranny problem he worked on and contributed to abuse. The dealer that fixed my tranny has had 4 in now including mine. All of them, except for mine, were damaged so badly that they had no idea what caused the problem. When my 2nd gear started to skip like the chain was skipping over the sprocket, I took it in right away. I was not going to chance having it blow up and destroy more than it already had. Needless to say, I had to have the shift drum, toothed spacer, 2nd and 4th gears all replaced.

I should have it back on Friday!

They can't give them away here. I was sitting on one last week, and the salesman walked by, looked at me, and said, "I wouldn't do it if I were you, theres four of them in the shop, waiting to be worked on!!" He then tried to steer me towards a 400EX. I was just there to get an oil filter for my Kodiak.

well the raptor is definetly selling like hotcakes and yes the tranny problem is definetly scary but i have yet to hear of anyone having a tranny problem with a serial number after 6000. if someone has id like to know. i bought my raptor in march and it has been pretty solid. the steering stem nut loosend and it has some creased plastic, the radiator plugged up with mud on a dice run and the temp light came on, a small hole in the rear skidplate but that is about it. a wider axle and an exhaust pipe are in my near future.

Have you tried flipping over the rear linkage where the rear shock connects? I performed this procedure last night and it really seems to have improved the handling since the backend of the quad sits about 2" lower. I haven't tried jumping yet but I can definitely powerslide easier. Checkout www.raptorzone.com for detailed instructions. Too bad they don't list the torque settings though for putting it all back together. I didn't have any trouble finding a Raptor in February but haven't been able to get a manual since I ordered it February 10th.

my local dealer had 5 raptors. two weeks later, they were sold. there has been 3 DS 650's there for about 5 months. they can't seem to get rid of them. they are just there collecting dust. everytime i go by the dealer the price has been lowered 50 or 100 $'s.

My dealership rarely has any in stock. I never saw a Raptor in person until I picked mine up. That afternoon I was there getting mine 2 more came in on the truck and were for the floor. They wheeled them out into the showroom (a blue one and a black/white one) and within 20 minutes they were both sold. I've never seen a Raptor sit more than 2 days in any of the dealerships I go to around here.

In the last 3 yrs he's had 4 blasters, 3 warriors, and one banshee.. oh, and 2 DS650's, sold one, the other has been there for at least a year.
