Hey there, i finally got my banshee yesterday...i NEVER knew the power these things had. It shocked the hell out of me on my road. I was just goin slow, and was like "well this is normal four-stroke accelleration(sp?)" and then without giving it ANY more gas, the thing pretty much threw me back...INCREDIBLE...im in love...but anyway, i took off my spark arresters on my stock pipes...and like oil was just sitting in the pipes...i mix 32:1 and the guy before me mixed 24:1......are we to rich? Should i go with like 40:1 or 50:1? Im just not sure why there was so much oil just sitting there...Thanks for the help and sorry for the long post!

You NEED to re-jet it, try doing a search on here if you dont already know how to, check my pics to see what happens when you blow it up. Not pretty. Do you know how to do a plug chop? Thats the best way to tell how its running, to make a long story short basically you ride it WOT 6th gear for a couple minutes, pull the clutch and hit the kill switch, come to a stop and take the plugs out and look at them, white-grey=lean, grey-brown=good, black dripping=rich. Hope this helps.

BlackIce, congrats on your Banshee!!! They are a lot of fun. Don't worry too much about the oil sitting in the pipes. You'll find it there and on the carb boots on the air filter side. they're 2 strokes they spew oil out. Think about it, for a tank of gas you are using almost a pint of oil... It's gotta go somewhere even though a lot get's burned there will still be plenty of unburned oil in the exhaust. There shouldn't be puddles of it everywhere but a little is OK.

Stay with 32:1, do not go to 40:1 or anything like that. Nobody ever damaged their engine from too much oil... Too little oil is a death sentance for your engine. 32:1 is a good compromise between the two.

Like I said before, if your quad starts OK, pulls off of idle without too much hesitation and revs out easily without any popping type sounds you are safe on your jetting. Don't get too carried away worrying about something you probably don't need to. If the guy before you bought it stock and kept it stock there should be no need to mess with the jetting. If you do any mods you will then have to consider re-jetting.

Ride it, get used to it, take good care of it and be carefull about mixing your oil and that your air filter is seated properly and you'll be fine.
