Did you widen the front also? Is it a "must" to widen the front at the same time via offset wheels, inversed wheels or longer a-arms?

No it is not a must, I have a Durablue axle and I have runned my Raptor both with 1.5" front spacer and without. The tight cornering is better without spacers and but on relatively flat and not so tight curves, the spacers help make the Raptor more stable. Check out mine, Raptor site
