Yamaha Discussions about Yamaha ATVs.

How come you never see any tricked out DS 650s? Paint, chrome, etc.

I have yet to see a really cool looking DS. The Raptor hasn't even been out for a year and people already have them totally chromed out, trick paint jobs, tons of motor mods etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the DS, it's just that all you ever see is the same old yellow or black colors with the gray motor. Nothing extra. At least I haven't seen any yet. Just a thought.

There aren't alot of aftermarket parts for them.
As far as personal taste I think all chromed out quads look like the lowriders of ATV's.

The ds650 is already tricked out enough, doesnt need anymore parts. haha just kidding. Good question. Ds's just arnt a machine that would look really cool all tricked out. Unless it got new plastic..

Jeez, I think the DS is the coolest looking quad out there. It is stylish in a Euro-chic, almost Ducati kind of way. I'd like to have nerfs on mine, but I haven't tried looking for a while, I gave up after my lovely experience with Team Factory Racing and a pair of Graydons I'd ordered from them. (Still in dispute with Visa). The Raptor looks good, but not AS good. Customize? All that decal nonsense, and extra chrome, who cares? I like em dirty!!

Why this is, is because they are crap. Overweight and just plain to big of a quad. Not to mention slow.

I saw one with removed front fenders and trimed rear fenders and polished wheels and exuast and it looked really good.

blowshee you won't think that when a stock DS whips you all the way down the strip. I can keep up with stock blowshee with my DMC EX. and most of the time beat them by a length or so.
if you haven't seen a tricked DS you ought to go see scoobyDFW's Turbo DS.

Like I've said before. Anyone who knocks the DS in an insulting way about being too big just needs to spend more time in the gym.

Too many of these people think they are so cool because they are one hell of a "keyboard racer". Its sad...
