I am going to be getting a new quad pretty soon and even though I am a 2-stroke fan, I like the 400 and Raptor, so I was just wondering, are both of these quads better than a Banshee in the following conditions
1.MX racing
2.XC racing
3.dunes
4.playing around on

Don't mention anything about the dirtwheels shootout please.
Oh yeah, I am a good rider so also don't mention anything about skill. Thank you for any info.

I have seen many 400 on the MX track, and no Banshee's, so that is an indication that the 400's are better MXrs. However, Raptors have been creeping in lately, and doing very well, also.

XC - I'd say the Raptor, due to it's comfort on the long straight stretches, it's suspension, and it's power. I have seen lots of 400's, too, due to their handling and excellent craftsmanship. Seen some DS's too, but not many Banshees.

Dunes - uh.....that would be the BANSHEE! 400's and Raptors are lots of fun out there, don't get me wrong, and they do fine, but I think everyone would agree that the Banshee is the ultimate duning machine (Except maybe some DS owners!)

Playing - I love my 400 for jumping, playing on the track, desert riding, duning, mountains, all that fun stuff. I think all 3 would be great for playing, though!

Thank you, I rode my friends 2000 banshee and didn't like it alot because of the crappy low-end. Anyway, I don't go to the Dunes much so I will probably end up getting a 400EX, but I forgot, how are the 400EX's better that the 250R's on the track? I am a pretty good rider so do oyu think I would beat most of the 250R's?

MX-Raptor or 400ex
XC-Raptor
Dunes-Raptor or Shee
playing around-all depends where you ride

Good Luck

A stock 400EX is a little slower top end than the Honda 250R. I figure the EX to do low 60's and the 250R to do upper 60's (but not many 250R's are stock). As for the LT250R i'm not too sure about it, but I think it is pretty close to the Honda 250R speed wise. But the 400EX has more torque and is easier to cruise on than the other two, it just doesn't have the all out *****.

Thank you, so if I am riding with people that aren't quite as good as me on a LT250 and a CR250 I will keep up.

It says 82.7, I have hit 83.2 but never felt like scanning it in. You couldn't see that by clicking the link below? As for races I have only run up against a stock 400EX which wasn't close, and a stock Banshee which was closer, but still not that close. My friend got a modified 250R recently that I will race eventually. I'll post some results whenever that happens.
