Has any one else had this problem. If you have can u please post it here. Also if its realy cold out like in the winter cold the choke would stick and wouldnt close till it was ran for a long time. also it made a busing noise for about the first ten seconds and then went away please post thanks.

I know sometimes if you shut off a bike when it is reving kind of high it will backfire loudly a few seconds afters the motor shuts off.So maybe you just rev it a little too high before you shut it off or possibly your idle is set too high. I dont know these are just ideads.

I have had the same problem with mine. It also does it when i accelerate hard and let off. i tried changing jets, idle settings, idle mixture screws andpilots to no prevail. I am thinking it is a small air leak in the exhaust. I know cars do the same if the exhaust isnt perfectly sealed.

The sound you are hearing is backlash of the one way starter clutch bearing (1 way bearing). It is normal to make that sound. My old Warrior used to do the same thing. My Raptor does it as well. If it bothers you that much you can try and change it, but it will cost you. The bearing for my Warrior was almost 300.00 CDN, plus you need to buy the proper puller to pull of the flywheel.

Thanks man i always thought it was coming from the starter. And its not a back fire its like the motor comes to a dead stop witch makes this noise.

mine has done the exact same thing since I bought it, like he said it's in the starter clutches. on cold starts it makes a bit of noise down there and then stops kinda once I shut the choke off. and once in a while it bangs after shutting it off. nothing to worry about.my raptor

I was wondering the same thing about my Raptor. It's a pretty nasty sounding noise coming from the engine. I've never heard this noice on other quads I've owned (250X, 400EX), so I'm glad it's normal on the Raptor.
