Griz IRS?- might as well be a swingarm

After today, I can say with complete confidence that the Grizzly's IRS is no better than a standard swingarm at keeping all four wheels on the ground. I put it in every situation imaginable, and the IRS maybe gives in an inch to an inch and a half. I put an AC 454 in the same situations and the semi-independant swingaxle tilts and keeps all four planted in spots where the Grizzly will have a tire 5-6 inches off the ground.

The Grizzly has a great ride, but I'm guessing the sway bar keeps it from leveling off. The shocks are at the next to the softest setting from the factory.

I'm not dissapointed with the quad as a whole, but I sure thought it would be different than this. Basically, the only advantage of the Grizzly IRS is the ground clearance.

Andy, do you think the IRS will get better after it gets broke in. How are the stock tires?

You guessed it, try removing the swaybar you should gain alot more independent wheel travel. But you will lose stability at higher speeds which can be compensated with more pre-load on the shocks.. There are trade offs to it. For example on my truck I unhook the swaybar and the IFS flexes alot better, the rear swaybar was removed entirely.

The tires are ok I guess. I've driven on 27" Claws for a while so I really can't be very accurate rating a stock tire. They don't impress me any really. They are just stockers, about like anything else. They grab real good, but then again, they are brand new. I would have to put 1000 miles on them before I could really tell I guess. Unhooking the sway bar might be something I might try someday, but I'll just live with it for now.
