350X vs Banshee
#1
At another board I moderate at, there is an on-going battle between which is faster in an allout top-end drag battle.
Its between the 350X and the Banshee. I say the 350X is faster. Some other posters claim to have seen a Banshee beat a 350X.
I figured I'd ask the Yamaha experts in this forum their opinion... What do you think?

Yes, Brad is right. I have witnessed the Battle before.
The 350x did pretty good off the line, but the Banshee pulled away more and more the further they went. The 350x owner has 4 trikes that he has restored from the ground up (200x, Big Red, 250r, and the 350x). He rides a different one every time he comes up.
Also, can't use the excuse that the 350x rider didn't know what he was doing, because that guy can ride!!! He is a much better rider than my buddy on the Banshee.
I also like his procedure for loading his 3-wheeler in that back of his full size chevy truck. He has two ramps and a small piece of "fire wood". He takes the two ramps and spaces them like you would for loading a 4-wheeler, then he puts the small (I'd say 3" by 6" or so) piece of wood in between them. He rides up and when the front tire hits the small piece of wood, he pops the front tire up and rides a wheelie into the truck. I didn't believe it until I saw it.
Let me add that the 350x is way faster than I would feel safe going on a 3-wheeler.

I TOTALLY agree.
And as far as the wheelie thing goes... Thats a little bit too dangerous for me. You're supposed to ride the trike, not have the trike ride you!

I had a 85 350X that had a .40 over wiseco piston, complete DG exhaust system and a K & N air filter and it hauled butt. I bought a 96 Banshee that was bone stock at the time and I raced the 350X when my friend was riding it. The Banshee ripped past the hopped up 350X like it was sitting still and my friend's a very good rider, so I know it wasn't his riding skills.
