I have an 89 Blaster with a 240 kit and a 38mm Mikuni flatslide Carb, pipes, etc. I was curious what kind of carb work it would take to run Methonal?

Is your 38 mik a TM model? If so they emulsion tube can be swapped and a couple other tiny tweaks internally in the carb to get it to flow the fuel and you can switch between gas and methanol....

Typically you want just a tad more compression the 170-190 range to get most out of the alky and some timing advance too...

You have to switch or remove your petcock from the tank, no in tank filters or in line filters. You're likely to be able to run it without having to use a fuel pump, but not 6th gear forever runs, you're likely to suck it dry then. You really have to flow the fuel to the carb with methanol as the required jetting is about 2.3 times richer than with gasoline.

Hey Motordude0616, did you change your intake manifold for your 38 carb? Thanks.

Yes I did Blaster 91. I custom made mine out of aluminum. I went and bought an aluminum welding rod and made it out of a piece of plate and pipe. The welds didn't come out very clean so alot of grinding was required, but all in all it didn't come out to bad.
