what is a good reed for a blaster

Rejeting is fairly simple. The reeds should come with instructions and should also tell you what size new main jet to install. It is fairly simple. You must take off the bowl of the carb and unscrew the main jet( right in the center). You then simply screw in the new one. You are recomended to also change the clip position so all you have to do is remove the top cap ofthe carb pull out the pin and move the position to the third spot. It should be easy to understand when you get the instructions. For the first time jetter I highly recomend going to Blastercentral.com. They have a whole article about jetting.

I got the reeds from rockymountain atv. I beleive they can also be baught at dennis kirk. The only other thing that made so much differance was my trinity pipe and silencer. My uni filter made a small differance but it wasnt near as noticeable as the reeds. I also put on a 28mm mikuni carb and with these mods combined they really woke my blaster up. Wit these mods I could be fairly close to a stock 400ex.

HMMM evidently I got a little mixed up. FMF makes the torque reeds but I did get the boyesen pro series reeds. I was very impressed with the pro series reeds. Sorry about my mix up. I think that they would be great with any pipe. If you mod both ends of the engine(intake & exhuast) it seems to really boost it up. I havent heard anything about the fmf reeds but I wouldnt think that they would be much differant. How could they be they are just little peices of carbon fiber.I also suggest the reed spacer when you buy new reeds. The spacer also makes a noticed differance and worth the cost.
